Impressionen von der IFSS-Schlittenhunde-Europameisterschaft in Leipa

Rund 800 Teilnehmer mit mehr als 1.400 Hunden wurden an dem Wettkampf am Rand der Glücksburger Heide erwartet. Ministerpräsident Dr. R. Haseloff ehrte die besten Teilnehmer.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear musher of  23  foreign countries,

I´m very honored to welcome you to the IFSS European Championships an Masters Dryland 2022 here on the fields of Leipa.

Leipa ist a livly village near our central city Jessen along the river Schwarze Elster, means „Black Magpie“.

We are a community of three towns an 41 villages in the East of Saxony-Anhalt.

Here live 14.300 people included about 500 people of 15 different nations, also refugees of war from Ukraine.

We live on an area of 352 sqare kilometers. So we have a long tradition in agriculture and many place for hunting and sports like sleddog sport.

Thats why you are here and we are proud about it.

Our people like to work, love to live, to dance and drink some vine and beer (like you ?), we like animals and to make any kinds of sports.

We have got ambitious sportsmen in town.

Some time ago – in 2004 we had in Jessen the 10. FCI Tracking Dog World Championships and

in 2018 the WRTC World Radiosport Team Championships.

Naturally we like play soccer.  Last April we played an international match between the National Teams of Mayors from Poland and Germany.

And today we have the IFSS European Championships an Masters Dryland of Dogsled.

Great thanks to he members of  the organisation team, to the many helpers and the board oft he society „Glücksburger Heide“ – here in Person of Detlef Polzenhagen.

Thanks For these event, which makes Jessen to the middle of Europe.

I wish you good luck, your dogs much power and speed -  the Victory to the best.
